Third Grader

Katie started back to school this week. Hard to believe my girl is in third grade! Overall, she had a good first week. She was a little hesitant about going to school on Monday, and even seemed a little subdued in the car on the way to school a couple other days, but she did great once she got there.

She has the same interpreter and one-on-one aide as last year. She has a new special ed interventionist, but luckily it is a woman who used to teach at the Early Childhood Center that Katie attended, so she knows Katie and has even worked with her before. Katie has a new regular ed teacher, but the same OT, PT, and speech therapists as last year. It makes it so much easier when you have a lot of the same team members as the previous year. Already dreading the switch to a new school with the start of fourth grade next year--but we won't think about that yet!

You'd think after five full days of school, Katie would be exhausted tonight, but it's 11:00 p.m. and she's still going strong! Wish I had half her energy!

Yay for good days... even with a subdued start!

As for the energy at 11pm following a busy week... sounds like another (almost) third grader I know! LOL! I joke with John that they need to get some labs done on our girlies when they're like that so we can figure out how to bottle whatever that is that causes it! ;)

Glad you had fun at the fair, too!

So glad Katie had a possitive first week of school. And a good one for you too, Leslie . . . as a Mom, I remember those apprehensive days of a new school year.

That is such a Beautiful Mother/Daughter picture of you and Katie.

Holy cow! 3rd grade already? I'm glad Katie had a great day and hopefully she didn't stay up too much longer so her momma could go to bed!
