Katie starts back to school on Monday, the 22nd, so we decided to take a family day this week before school starts and go the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis. What a nice fair! Katie really enjoyed herself, especially in the livestock barns since she has a love of farm animals right now. We saw cows, horses, sheep, and pigs galore! And food galore, too! Katie loved the fresh-cut fries.
We only stayed a couple hours--usually much longer in a place like this, and Katie will start getting overstimulated, so we've learned to limit our time, which makes for a better day for all of us. We would definitely go back to this fair--it was great!
Many of you have probably heard that there was a terrible accident at this fair last weekend, when a huge gust of wind preceding a thunderstorm caused a concert stage to collapse, killing five people and injuring dozens of others. This last picture shows the memorial they had set up for the victims of this freak and tragic event.
