Merry Christmas...a few weeks late!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year...and Happy MLK Day, since I'm that late posting Christmas pics! I think this is the longest I've ever gone without posting on our blog. The last couple months of 2010 were really busy for me at work, not to mention I'm taking two interpreter training classes at Cincinnati State Community College, so blogging became one of the activities that was temporarily cut while I tried to keep my head above water. Thankfully, work has slowed down some, so maybe I'll be able to keep up with the blog a little more again now. (No promises, though!)

Katie's favorite Christmas gift was books.
She has always loved books, even as a baby!

Hanging out in Grandma Kauffman's kitchen, watching DVDs.

My cute little Mom and my brother, Shay.
(My Mom will kill me for posting this pic!)

Even Shelby got Christmas gifts--
a stuffed frog, a stuffed donkey, and this pink teddy bear.
I think it took less than 5 minutes for the bear to have a hole in it.  :-)

Another favorite gift of Katie's was new Signing Time videos and books.
It didn't take her long to figure out that the books matched some of her videos and she could follow along in the book as she watched the DVD.
She is SO observant!

Me and my Dad

Hope everyone had wonderful holidays! After record snowfalls here in December and January, along with weeks of gray, gloomy skies, I personally can't wait for spring to arrive!

So glad to hear Katie and family had a good Christmas! LOVE the pictures!

That is so great that Katie loves books! Jeff does too, but only to rip them up and use them to make spitwads! It is amazing tho, give him a phone book, tool catalog or home decorating magazine and he's in heaven for hours! He goes from cover to cover, not missing a single thing on each page.

Wishing Miss Katie and all, a great 2011!

Love all the pictures! So glad you all had such a nice (albeit BUSY!) holiday season.

Interpreter classes, eh? I had no idea your signed that fluently (and fast, etc!). I started classes before I got pregnant with Preston (when G's medical stuff leveled out and we had great help) but it all fell by the wayside once I got pregnant, then we moved, then, well, you know! Anyway, my skills have deteriorated terribly and I can't get out in the deaf community to keep up my skills beyond staying just ahead of the kids. HOW DO YOU find the TIME?! :-)

And, last, but certainly not least,
Happy 9th Birthday, Katie! You are an amazing, inspirational young lady. I hope that someday, soon, we can finally meet you in person! Sending you lots of love on your very special day... and lots of love to your mommy and daddy! Happy Katie's Birthday to you all! :-)
